Holly Lodge employs more than 90 compassionate and hard working people, all striving to provide exemplary care. Holly Lodge won ‘Nursing Home of the Year’ at the Surrey Care Awards 2022 and the ‘Excellence & Innovation in Dementia Care’ award at the Caring UK Awards 2019. Holly Lodge has also featured in the Knight Frank Luxury Care Home Guide in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Caring UK Award judges described Holly Lodge as ‘Heart-warming’ and commented; “Making residents and relatives smile, is the staff’s daily goal at Holly Lodge. They are continuously striving to improve, and it is clear, that this luxury care home, is designed with the service, views and needs of people living with dementia at its core.”
Rico completed his Business Management degree in 2001 in the Philippines where he helped manage his family business. Since 2006, Rico has worked in the care sector, specifically within care for people living with dementia, and has been our Home Manager at Holly Lodge since 2015.
Rico is very passionate about making a difference in the lives of our residents and is always positive in approaching challenges. His sincere care for residents, relatives and staff is felt by all. He ensures that our Holly Lodge staff delivers compassionate and person-centred care. At the Surrey Care Awards 2022, Rico was a finalist for ‘Registered Manager of the Year’ and his hard work and dedication led Holly Lodge to win ‘Nursing Home of the Year’. At the Caring UK Awards 2019, Holly Lodge won the ‘Excellence & Innovation in Dementia Care’ award.
Sandra graduated from university in Italy with a language degree, allowing her to secure a position as an International Conference Organiser for UNESCO. 20 years later, Sandra relocated to the UK, working as a Freelance Translator in corporate environments, later becoming an Enquiry Officer in the Police Force.
Holly Lodge welcomed Sandra to the team in 2018 as our Weekend Administrator. Sandra quickly became a great advocate of the care provided at Holly Lodge along with the homely atmosphere the home creates.
Neenu graduated with a BSc in Nursing in India and taught Medical-Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecology before working as a Staff Nurse at St. Joseph’s Memorial Hospital. She moved to the UK in 2011 and joined Holly Lodge initially as a Healthcare Assistant before passing further exams to become a Registered Nurse in 2013. Neenu became Holly Lodge’s Head of Care in 2024.
Neenu manages the clinical care of our residents, she supervises our Nurses, Senior Carers and Care Assistants and collaborates with our home GP to ensure every resident receives person-centred care in accordance with their assessed needs and care plans. Neenu takes a holistic approach to care to incorporate the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our residents. She is incredibly compassionate and dedicated in her role and finds great fulfilment working with residents living with dementia, their happiness and smiles are incredibly rewarding to her.
Our compassionate and experienced Nurses are on-site 24/7 and are responsible for managing the clinical care of our residents. If you or a loved one has a clinical nursing need such as wound care, catheter care, tube feeding or specialist medication by injection e.g., for diabetes, then you will typically need nursing care. Our Nurses take a holistic approach to care, which incorporates the mental, physical and emotional wellbeing of our residents and will collaborate with our home GP and support Senior Carers and Care Assistants to ensure every resident receives person-centred care in accordance with their assessed needs and care plans.
Our compassionate and dedicated Care Team comprises of Senior Carers and Care Assistants who help residents with their personal care, day-to-day living, and immediate needs. Our aim is to improve the quality of life for our residents with a safe, comfortable, happy, ‘home-from-home’ environment. Our Carers work selflessly in striving to deliver the highest standards of person-centred care to our residents. We set our staffing levels above industry-standard ratios, to enable a more relaxed environment for our residents where person-centred care can be delivered without having to be rushed. Our team members receive continuous dementia care training, development, and support, giving them the confidence and skill set to provide outstanding care.
At the Surrey Care Awards 2022, our team was a finalist for ‘Care Team of the Year’ with Senior Carer Jyoti Gurung a finalist for ‘Care Worker of the Year’.
Our dedicated Activities Team, led by Shelley, use care plans and residents’ life stories and hobbies to engage with our residents living with dementia in an interesting and meaningful way. A variety of multi-sensory group and one-to-one activities and experiences help improve concentration, communication, encourage reminiscence and social interaction, and include gentle activities tailored for residents who are less mobile and able.
Activities include ‘Guess the scent’ games, baking and gardening with different aromas and textures, colourful and textural arts & crafts, Pets as Therapy visits (including alpacas, piglets, cavies and penguins to name a few!), textured balls during exercises, beauty sessions with hand massages and incorporating themed props into live music sessions and cultural events.

Beata is our talented Chef at Holly Lodge who ensures our residents enjoy a varied and nutritional menu which is also adapted for residents with modified diets. Beata has over 10 years of experience working as Head Chef in the care sector.
Having joined the Holly Lodge team in 2015, Beata quickly made an impression on residents, relatives and staff. The food she cooks is appetising, nutritional and commended by all. She also regularly goes above and beyond for residents’ special occasions.
Every team is integral to the running of our care home. We are fortunate to have a team of hard-working and compassionate individuals in housekeeping, which comprise of domestic and laundry. Not only do they help with the smooth running of the home, but they also contribute to the social and hospitality experience our residents enjoy.
At the Surrey Care Awards 2022, Head Housekeeper Rolly Mato was a finalist for the ‘Unsung Hero’ award.
Bernie is our Handyman who works very hard fixing things and making sure our home runs smoothly. This involves ensuring that any maintenance/repair works are carried out promptly and efficiently with minimal disturbance.
Andy is our talented Groundsman who ensures our outdoor spaces are kept beautifully presented and a place to relax for our residents and their families. Andy maintains our wildflowers, plants and trees, he continually brings new ideas to our outdoor spaces and helps to build new features within our gardens for our residents to explore.
Every month we celebrate the hard work of our team by choosing an Employee of the Month. Residents, relatives and employees can all nominate individuals. Congratulations to Richa Gurung who is our Employee of the Month for November!
Forest Care is delighted to announce the CQC has rated Holly Lodge ‘Good’ on its most recent inspection. The home has been rated Good across all areas, meaning the service they provide is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. A great achievement for all the team at Holly Lodge in Frimley Green.
Every year we celebrate the long service of our staff with our Years of Service Awards at Forest Care. We thank staff with gifts of flowers, chocolates and vouchers and celebrate with cake and bubbly! We proudly have a high number of long serving staff at Holly Lodge, which positively impacts on the continuity of care given to our residents.
