Respite care or short stays are ways of supporting people before they need permanent residential care and/or nursing care. There are several reasons why people choose respite care, for example:
Respite care provides a chance to sit back, relax and leave your cares behind. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, fall, illness, or just need to take the weight off for a few weeks, our compassionate and experienced teams are here 24/7 to get you back on your feet and feeling your best. Our aim across our Surrey and Hampshire care homes is to improve the quality of life for our residents with a safe, comfortable, happy, ‘home-from-home’ environment, and beautifully decorated rooms, tranquil outdoor spaces, nutritious and delicious home-cooked meals and a choice of meaningful and engaging activities. Often, a resident coming to Forest Care for respite care, will choose to stay with us on a permanent basis because they enjoy their stay so much!
We offer respite care for a minimum period of 4 weeks, subject to availability.
Choosing a care home can be a difficult and emotional process, so we aim to make it a little easier by providing exceptional care in a happy and homely environment. Our open visiting policy means family and friends are welcome at any time, and our Home Managers are here if you wish to talk about your loved one’s care or any aspect of the home.
“Our mother came to Oak Lodge for 4 weeks respite and when we went to collect her to return home, she asked to stay. She had a new lease of life and had the best time. All the staff are like family to her. So much love and attention. Six months on and she is loving every minute.” Daughter of resident.
